Over the last decade, Mayer K. Ngomesia has advised governments, private-sector actors, multilateral institutions, and civil society organizations, on political economy issues relating to mineral resources development. He is a former United Nations official and head of mineral resource governance at the African Minerals Development Center. Previously, he facilitated multilateral processes addressing the flow of conflict diamonds. His international experience spans more than 50 countries across Africa, Asia, the Caribbean, Middle East, Europe and North America. He specializes in corporate political engagement, geopolitical and geostrategic matters relating to critical minerals development, including energy transition opportunities, and defense and security policy implications. He has brokered Public-Private partnerships to advance mining investment and governance initiatives; helped implement multimillion dollar mineral resources governance frameworks; and served on responsible mining and minerals sourcing advisory bodies. He is a Duke University alumnus.
